LGBTQIA wedding planner Denver

It started with two friends, one vision, and a shared passion.
It quickly became contagious, an energy that grew, evolved, and became something felt, something lived, and a warmth we now carry into every wedding we touch.

From the very beginning, this work has never been just about logistics or Pinterest. It’s about curating what’s important to you. It’s about trust. It’s about stepping into one of the most meaningful seasons of someone’s life and holding it with kindness.

We’ve cried with our couples during their most emotional moments, stood quietly in the background as vows were exchanged, and just as often, worked behind the scenes to solve problems before they arose, the moments you wouldn’t even know about.

Because what matters most to us isn’t just how a wedding looks it’s about how it feels. Effortless. Supported. Fully present.

None of this exists in isolation. Every celebration we create is supported by a network of trusted local vendors, collaborators, and creatives who care just as deeply about the experience as we do. Over time, this has grown into our people a group coming together on respect, intention, and a shared commitment to doing things well.

HK is not just one planner or one team it’s the collective of everyone who shows up to make these moments possible. It’s the quiet coordination, the curated details, the steady presence throughout it all.

This is what allows us to create weddings that feel entirely your own, held from beginning to end with warmth, presence, and intention.

Nice to meet you

Hi, I'm Hanah Patino, owner, co-founder and operations at HK Events. I earned my degree in Business right here in Denver and have spent my career managing large-scale events where organization, logistics, and execution are everything. That experience taught me to lead under pressure, anticipate challenges before they happen, and create experiences that feel seamless from beginning to end.

I'm originally from Texas, and I like to think I brought a little Southern grit with me. You'll find me just as comfortable designing a floral installation as I am grabbing a power tool to build, fix, or problem-solve whatever the day calls for. Kerr and I built HK on a shared belief that experience matters, but genuine passion is what makes this work exceptional. I'm here to make sure you feel cared for while I quietly keep every moving piece exactly where it belongs, creating calm behind the scenes so you can simply soak in every moment with the people you love. -HP

Hi, I'm Kerr Murray, owner, co-founder, and lead planner at HK Events. Mom, dog owner, pistachio coffee addict, and living my dream life in the wedding industry. My goal is to take the complexity off your shoulders so you can stay present throughout your engagement and fully enjoy the day you've been dreaming about.

You'll often find me over-communicating with a heavy laugh and my favorite checklist close by. I believe clarity is kindness, and the best planning relationships are built on trust, honesty, and a little humor along the way. I want you to feel comfortable asking every question, sharing every idea, and knowing I am just as excited as you are. Around here, we believe wedding planning should feel human, not transactional and that's exactly the experience I give to every couple with HK.- KM

"The auteur myth"

The idea that one person, usually the director, founder, planner, or creative lead, is solely responsible for the success of a project.

It assumes there is one visionary behind everything, when in reality the most meaningful experiences are almost always created by a collaborative team and we work together!

At HK, we reject the auteur myth entirely. Weddings are not built by one loud voice controlling the room. They are built by a trusted network of talented people all bringing their craft together with care, communication, and intention. That is why HK values strong vendor relationships so deeply. Your photographer, florist, caterer, DJ, rental team, beauty artists, venue staff, and planning team are not separate moving parts to us.

HK is not the loudest voice in the room. We are your voice in the room.

Our role is to advocate for your vision, protect your experience, and make sure every vendor involved has the information, support, and coordination they need to do their best work. The result is a wedding day that feels seamless, collaborative, and deeply reflective of you as a couple.

This is the team you built.
We are simply honored to help guide it together.
